The Alumni Welcome Fest brings together nearly 400 students in its second edition and builds on its success at UIC Barcelona

The event started in the Aula Magna and was led, once again, by La Sexta journalist and former student, Marc Llobet. Attendees took part in a Kahoot quiz about the services offered by the Alumni Department, including career guidance, networking opportunities, and access to an exclusive job board for university graduates.

Although he was unable to attend in person, the rector of UIC Barcelona, Alfonso Méndiz, shared a video message to mark the occasion, offering his congratulations and welcoming the new members to the Alumni community. Attendees also heard from former students who had used the Alumni services to help boost their careers.

Personal branding and talent expert Arancha Ruiz gave a talk entitled “Graduated… now what? Key decisions for your first 100 days”. She shared valuable insights with the soon-to-be graduates on how to approach their first steps into the working world with confidence and determination.

One of the highlights of the day was the official launch of the new Alumni Instagram channel.  Through an interactive activity with the audience, a special prize draw was held for a pair of tickets to a music festival in Barcelona.

After the formal proceedings, students moved to Passeig de la Fontana, where they enjoyed an evening of networking with dinner, provided by Deleito, and background music.

As a final gesture, all new graduates received their faculty’s yearbook – a symbol of their transition into a new chapter as part of the UIC Barcelona community.

With almost 400 attendees, this second edition confirms the Alumni Welcome Fest as a key occasion to connect, inspire and strengthen the lasting bond between the university and its future graduates.
