This Wednesday, UIC Barcelona held its first Alumni Evening, an event designed to strengthen ties between alumni from the same sector and promote professional networking. With the title ‘Wealth Management and Investment’, the event took place at Rabat on Passeig de Gràcia, and brought together alumni from different promotions with the aim of offering new experiences and opportunities and providing a space for networking.  The rector of the university, Alfonso Méndiz, welcomed the first Alumni Evening with an opening speech in which he stressed the importance of the former students for the University: ‘Alumni is our legacy. They are the heart of UIC Barcelona’.

The round table, moderated by Ricardo Torrecilla, lecturer of the Master's Degree in Private Equity & Entrepreneurial Finance at the University, featured two experts from the sector, Ferran Vila, 2004 graduate of Business Administration and current head of Structured Product Desk & Flow Desk at Morabanc, and David Levy, CEO of DiverInvest Consultancy EAFI and member of the UIC Barcelona University Advisory Board.

During the debate, topics such as the transformation of the financial sector, the growing importance of assets such as cryptocurrencies and gold, and the impact of the international context, including references to the political context in the United States on investment decisions, were discussed. The speakers also shared personal experiences of their relationships with clients and reflected on the importance of trust in wealth consultancy.

The event ended with a cocktail and networking space open question and answer session in which several alumni members participated, demonstrating the interest and involvement of the university's alumni community.
