The city of Quito hosted the first UIC Barcelona Alumni gathering in Ecuador in June, an initiative led by the Alumni Department with the aim of strengthening ties with former students in South America.
The event took the form of an informal dinner attended by Mónica Argemí, director of Personal Development and Institutional Culture at UIC Barcelona, who represented the alumni department.
Throughout the evening, a group of alumni from various faculties shared their personal and professional journeys, as well as fond memories of their time at the university. The atmosphere was warm and engaging, and there was a clear enthusiasm for remaining connected with the UIC Barcelona alumni community.
Among the initiatives presented was the creation of a territorial network or Alumni chapters at both national and international levels, with the goal of reinforcing ties with those living outside Barcelona. This network aims to foster networking opportunities, strengthen the sense of belonging, and contribute to attracting new students.
Attendees expressed strong interest in forming the first UIC Barcelona Alumni network in South America, a proposal that was very well received.
Several individual initiatives were also shared during the gathering, such as that of a former student who collaborates with the university by advising prospective international students, and an entrepreneurial project by a graduate who organises Spanish culinary experiences for private events.
This gathering marks an important step in the international growth of UIC Barcelona. The university would like to thank all attendees for their involvement and enthusiasm, and especially Mónica Argemí for her commitment and dedication in representing the Alumni Department.
