The Journalism Class of 2006 reunites at UIC Barcelona

Journalism graduates from the Class of 2006 at UIC Barcelona came together for an emotional reunion marking the 20th anniversary of their graduation.

Organised by Alumni UIC Barcelona, the event began with institutional remarks from the University’s rector, Alfonso Méndez, who reflected on the evolution of UIC Barcelona and its Faculty of Communication Sciences from its early stages to the present day. During his speech, he highlighted the growth and consolidation of the university project over the years and encouraged alums to continue strengthening their ties and actively collaborating with the institution.

The vice-dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Pere Buhigas, also addressed attendees. As a member of the teaching staff in 2006, he recalled some of the moments shared in the classroom and reflected on the professional and personal development of those students, many of whom remain closely connected to the field of communication.

Faculty lecturers also took part in the reunion, sharing memories and anecdotes from their teaching experience with these graduates.

One of the event’s most meaningful moments came during the speeches by alums José Manuel Ariza and Mamen Sala, who reflected on their time at the University and on everything they have experienced over the past two decades, both professionally and personally.

The event concluded with a relaxed space in which classmates and teaching staff could reconnect.
