On 8 June, the final session of the second edition of Growing Together, the professional mentoring programme promoted by Alumni UIC Barcelona’s Careers Service, took place.
Over the course of four months, 15 mentor-mentee pairs participated in a mentoring process focused on professional development, the exchange of experiences and the creation of meaningful connections between alums from different generations.
During the final session, participants shared the key insights they had gained from the programme. Among the most valuable takeaways were the importance of supporting others through positive and constructive approaches, the value of mentoring relationships and the need to maintain an open and curious mindset when faced with professional challenges. The discussion also highlighted the importance of balancing professional ambition with personal wellbeing.
Throughout the programme, experienced alums guided junior professionals, recent graduates and master’s students, offering advice and practical insights to help them navigate the early stages of their careers.
In addition, both mentors and mentees took part in role-specific training sessions led by César Fernández, an executive coach and expert in leadership and talent development.
Growing Together is an Alumni UIC Barcelona initiative that promotes knowledge sharing and mutual growth among members of its community.
