On 2 July, the Saló de Graus at UIC Barcelona hosted a commemorative event marking the 40th anniversary of the INEDE 85 graduating class, which includes graduates in Economics and Law.
Organised by the Alumni UIC Barcelona department, the event began with words of welcome from lecturer David Tanganelli, vice-dean and coordinator of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, who reflected on the University’s trajectory and evolution from its beginnings to the present day.
Next, the director of Alumni, Frederic Van Dyck, spoke about the importance of the graduate network in consolidating the university project, emphasising the value of maintaining a strong, ongoing bond between former students and the institution. Van Dyck encouraged attendees to stay connected to the University, sharing experiences and knowledge that continue to strengthen an active and committed community.
Also speaking were Dr Marta Mas, dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, and Dr Rafael Oliver, dean of the Faculty of Law, representing both faculties and accompanying attendees throughout the event.
The day included a talk by lecturer José Mª Alsina, entitled "A happy memory is worth a lifetime", in which he shared his experiences as a lecturer with that class. Videos sent by lecturers Pascual Montañés and Miguel Ángel Jusdado were also shown, offering memories of the early years of academic activity.
After the formal event, attendees enjoyed a reception on campus where they could reconnect both personally and professionally.
Alumni UIC Barcelona wishes to thank especially the class representatives Inma Busquets, Maite Francés and Sergio García for their dedication in organising the gathering, and all those who attended for keeping alive the memory, affection and spirit of collaboration that define our Alumni community.
Thank you for continuing to be part of our history.
