UIC Barcelona Physiotherapy alums share insights and opportunities with students during Career Opportunities Day

The Career Opportunities in Physiotherapy Day brought together undergraduate students and UIC Barcelona alums, generating a space of exchange between those just starting their careers and those already established in the field.

During the session, the former students shared their professional experiences and highlighted the key opportunities in the sector. Speakers included Aday Santana, an alum pursuing a career abroad, currently in Switzerland; Marta Ferron, an alum from the Master's Degree in Paediatric Physiotherapy, currently completing her doctorate; Sergi Gassó, an alum working in the public sector; and Irene Zamora, representing Fisio en Francia, a company dedicated to facilitating the integration of physiotherapists into the French and Swiss job markets.

The aim of the session, organised by the UIC Barcelona Alumni Careers Service, in cooperation with the Department of Physiotherapy, was to guide future physiotherapists in shaping their career paths.

The event explored a range of career paths, including entrepreneurship in specialised centres, international opportunities, self-employment, options within the public sector and avenues for further specialisation, such as the Master's Degree in Orthopaedic Manual Physiotherapy.

Also present at the event were lecturer Carlos López and lecturer and coordinator of Physiotherapy Alumni Carlos Zárate.
